Often I am asked how I've created this website. This site is based on Joomla and it is really not difficult to install Joomla. You have to realise though that most sites (as this one) are not a ready-made solution out of the box. Only the basis is.

You need to start thinking about what you really want to show, is Joomla the right solution? Then (assuming the previous question has been answered with "yes"), we select a template. This is harder than you would expect, the template must be in the style that you stand for. Make a realistic estimate of the (spare)time you have available to build the site AND to maintain it.

Try to understand the way site visitors get interested in the content of your site, otherwise the “bounce rate” will be high. So the content of your site must be accessible on a clear (intuitive) and fast way, try to check this with your visitors on a regular basis. I assume you do not make the site for yourself. Nothing wrong with that, but that is an important choice!

But either way, building a web site is fun!
